Guest appearance of Mr. Glušac in the show "Dinner with the Ambassador"
The Chinese TV station Hainan Satellite TV has a TV show within its programme where ambassadors from various countries around the world who are currently staying and working in China appear as guests. The theme of the show is preparing the national specialty of the visiting ambassador, as well as introducing the ambassador to the beauty and culture of China, or Hainan. In the second season of the series, the visiting ambassador was Mr. Dario Mihelin, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to China, and as his guest in the show was Mr. Josip Glušac.
At the beginning of the show, the friendship between Croatia and Hainan was highlighted, which has been going on since 2013, and that the cities of Sanya and Dubrovnik are twin cities. In the first part of the show, the hostess introduces the ambassador to the beauty of Hainan. From the city of Sanya, they go to the Baoting region, where tribes with a unique culture, Li and Miao, live. Members of the Li tribe do not have their own written language, but are very skilled and ingenious in rattan handicrafts and weaving fabrics in different colours, which represent cultural information of each dialectal area of the Li people.
Mr. Mihelin first visited children from a local school and played a football match with them, and then attended the traditional bamboo jumping dance. Hainan's eight-tone instrumental music, which musicians play with both mouth and nose, is considered one of the best on the island and further beautified the visit. After that, Mr. Mihelin visited the Baoting national park area, a protected area of Hainan with about 80% forestation.
The end of the day was marked by cuisine, or the visiting ambassador's skill in preparing the national specialty. For this occasion, Mr. Mihelin prepared buzara. Since they are in a sea region, he chose this traditional Croatian seafood dish. Besides the guest, the host chef also prepares his national dish, which on this occasion was rolled duck.

The end of the day was marked by the dinner itself, which was attended by distinguished people from the island, as well as the ambassador Mihelin's guests. From the Chinese side of the dinner, among others, attended: Mu Kerui, party secretary of Baoting Li and Miao autonomous county, who introduced the ambassador to the functioning of the Baoting region, healthcare and other characteristics of this area; the deputy president of Hainan Airlines, who spoke about the importance of air connectivity between Hainan and Croatia; as well as Li Zhongguang, deputy director of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan province, who emphasised the importance of this family feast and stated that "through this event, the international platform for cooperation was further strengthened".
From the Croatian side of the dinner attended the deputy ambassador, Mr. Josip Glušac, who presented Croatian wines at the dinner, and Ms. Tea Lončar, who sang the song "Vjeruj u ljubav" (Believe in Love) to the guests on this occasion.
