We recently shipped two side diesel forklifts, model FDS40 to a client in Croatia. These forklifts are special because they handle long loads such as pipes or timber through narrow gates where an ordinary forklift cannot enter.
A classic forklift picks up the load from the front, so it needs plenty of space in front and to the side to turn. A side forklift solves this problem by carrying the load sideways, so it can pass through a narrower aisle while the long cargo remains securely supported on the forks.
