25. November 2020. China's State Council Office has released its official holiday schedule for 2021.
Traditionally, the holiday schedule includes two major holidays: the Spring Festival (also known as Chinese New Year) and the National Holiday of the People's Republic of China.
2021. year, the Spring Festival is celebrated between February 11 and 17, and the National Holiday of the People's Republic of China between October 1 and 7.
According to the Chinese calendar, the New Year falls on Friday, February 12, 2021. The year of the bull begins on that day.
Please note that some Saturdays and Sundays are often marked as additional official working days in China to compensate for long holiday breaks.
For example, in 2021, Sunday, February 7 and Saturday, February 20 have been designated as official working days to partially compensate for the seven days off for the Spring Festival.
Private companies in China, however, have the right to set their own schedule by expanding the state recommendations, which means that non-working days last much longer.
